Anybody have any advice on dealing with lots of males

reamk924 Apr 25, 2005 10:04 PM

I have 3 males I have rescued from different sources. One baby, one juvi, and one adult. It was not planned to get one of every age nor was it planned to get a bunch of males. How do I handle this situation the best way without them scratching and trying to bite me all the time b/c they can smell another male in the area? I have a lot of patience trying to work with all 3 of them, but my arms from my elbows down look like they went through a blender from all the scratches. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh yeah, they are all in their own cage. The juvie is in a seperate room from the other two.

Thanks

my arms look about the same way. its expected when you have alot of iguanas. i do have some tips for you though. when handling your igs where long sleaved shirts. it helps alot. you could even get a pair of gloves if you like. and you could clip your igs nails. but you must be very very careful when doing this. only take the very very tip off that is pointy. if you take off to much it will bleed. that will help a little. good luck
