Pietschmanni

Ptindy Apr 26, 2005 02:00 AM

Well, I am really excited right now, I got my first Pietshmanni tonight! I never thought I'd find one up here in Canada for awhile. She is a LTC from a fella who owns a small fish and reptile shop here in Calgary. She's been in his care for a couple years now so she is not a LTC like the importers would claim, for a whole month or anything. I'm very pleased with her, I will gets some pics when she is a little settled in, I snapped a few quick ones but they don't show her very well. I was so surprised to her size, in the pictures they look as big as a full grown sikorae. She is also very gentle I've noticed, doesn't spring around like a few of my other uroplatus. Well, any tips for me? Any information would be appreciated. I plan on keeping her like my other Uroplatus similarily because I can't find any information on what part of the island she is from. Anyone know whereabouts? Thanks. Also, the location of a male in Canada would be greatly appreciated :P

Take care,
Mike

According to the Uroplatus book by Svatek: "the exact location is kept secret for conservation purposes." So your guess is as good as mine. Maybe keep it the same way the store had it. They seem to have been successfull. Congratulations, these have been one I have been lusting after.

Hi Mike,
I can't wait to see pictures of your pietschmanni, they are in my opinion the coolest leaf tails ever but of course I'm biased. I'm working on a caresheet for pietschmanni and can email it to you when I'm finished. Also I know of a place that has pietschmanni for sale in canada but I'm not sure if they have males. Email me for the place because I don't know if I'm allowed to post this stuff on the forum.
