... shed about a week ago and in the last few days hes started bathing even though hes already shed and i was wondering if thats normal?

That's normal and nothing to worry about. I find that some of my calkings have enjoyed going in and out the water dish frequently, while others rarely use the water dish.
Only thing is if your calking is spending alot time, much more than normal, in the water dish be sure and check the temps in your cage that it's not too hot.
