Here in the US, there are two common types of window screening:
fiberglass
metal/aluminum
It's not reccommended to use fiberglass screen as crickets are able to chew through this screening. Best to use metal/aluminum.
Have you been able to find good plans for building your cage? If not, there are several people here with very good cage building plans/instructions.
I noticed you posted this same question in two spots. I will answer at both spots to make sure you get the info. Good luck!
BTW, I absolutely LOVE this picture! I'm often asked about the length of a chameleon's tongue. A lot of people just cannot believe it when I tell them how long their tongues are. Very good visual on a chameleon's tongue length.
Oh, one last suggestion about your setup. You may want to include more foliage and branches.

the other post is correct that the only downfall to fiberglass screen is that crickets can chew through it. where are you trying to locate the screen? both the home depot and the lowes near me cary the metal screen right next to the fiberglass screen. they also cary a dog scratch resistant screen which by use i know it holds up to dogs but not sure about crickets.
Hey Dan, I would go with metal also...and awesome picture!

Crickets will definitely chew through fiberglass, even little crix. I built several cages with fiberglass screen a year ago and either the sun has caused premature desintegration or the mild bleach dilution I use has, b/c every cage has to be re-screened with metal screen pretty soon.
I do find that some chams will abrade their snouts on the metal screen if they tend to lick water droplets off the screen (vs plant leaves). So for those chams I always make it a point to spray only the foliage, to minimize the chances of abrasions.
Good luck.

Hey everyone. once again thank for the replies, you blow me away.
I am not using crikets at all my main food is shelfordella tatara. I have found fiberglass and it is pretty cheap, but I will keep looking for the metal screen.
I will keep you updated.ps. if anyone has setup plans I would love to see them.

I'm assuming this is some sort of roach?
I did a google search, came up fairly empty, except for some sites in a foreign language.
As for cage building plans, I would suggest starting a new thread, requesting this info.
Best of luck!
