Amarali Breeders?

g.gartner Apr 26, 2005 10:19 AM

Aside from Barry Miller, are there any other people regularly producing Amarali? I really like Barry's stuff...but I figure I will at least look around first...plus, I'm just curious to see what else is out there...if you have any photos of your stock, that's a plus...

thanks,
gabriel.

Buying from breeders to start your own line, you should start with Miller, and Kevin Barnett. Both have exceptional lines, in both South Brazilian, and Bolivian (my favorite).

I don't know what Barry is working on for this year. He does have quiet a few available, and a nice group of Silverback Bolivians. Kevin has three females that will hopfully produce, a Silverback and one of Joe Terry's original Orange Crush, both bred to an '86 line male. He also has King line S. Brazil.

I bought my first amarali last year, an Orange Crush ('86 X '89 line breeding [Terry stock]) male. I later purchased one of Barry's '03 Blondes.

Honestly all the other amarali breeders I have become acquainted with started their stock with Miller and Barnett animals. Mark Bell, Tim Belknap, Tracy Barker, and Jeff Ronne have all worked with them, VPI and Ronne produced Silverbacks, Bell and Belknap are known for color.

Gabriel,

I should have a lot a babies come summer. I have two gravid females that are Bell/Belknap lines. I posted a few pics the other day, if you want more info let me know. The boas I have are all from excellent lines, and have excellent color. I have a few left from '04.

Here's a few names which popped into my head...in no particular order...lol
These are all people who I'm certain have produced one or more times in recent years

Ectothermics
Miller reptiles
Lee Barrie
Craig Mcsherry
Bill Cagle
Steve Binnig
Al Hunter
Joe Terry
WHRI

And here's a few more...(some I'm not sure if they're still working with Amarali)
Rob Tudehope
Mark Bell
Jeff Ronne
Jack Dyer
Vin Russo
Guy Castro
I've been working with these animals for several years...produced once. I still have a few pairs together but it doesn't look like it's going to happen this season.
Here's a link to some pics of my breeders, and some juvies and babies that I've produced.

Your pictures are very nice Philip. My Blonde is finally coloring up, although I think yours is still going to be better. I wish I bought her as soon as I saw her, I waited to long. You caught the color in the Orange Crush very well, I love mine!

Thanks Chris,
Just remember...even the "butt ugly" ones can produce absolute screamers!!
I should know, that female who produced for me last year isn't much to look at, compared to some of my other animals, but most of those babies were real lookers.
I'll be adding some animals to my orange crush project very soon...should turn out to be very interesting!

Good luck,
Philip

These pics are old & I'm going to get some new ones soon so that I can post them finally. I know Barry still has some animals available & I think Kevin has a couple left also.

I think this one is pretty neat. Once again, this is an old pic.

It seems that more people like Bolovian Amarili than Brazilian Amarili. Is there a reason for that? I've got a South Brazilian amarili that supposedly a genetic stripe.

I'm just curious.
