Question about behavior

Z_G_Reptiles Apr 26, 2005 10:58 AM

does anyone know why anacondas tend to sit in the middle of their cage and stick straight up kinda like cobra does? i woke up this morning to seeing my male yellow doing it, not the first time but just kinda got my thinking why they do it
thanks

I've seen my yellow doing that numerous times, especially when i let her roam the house. Couldnt tell you why they do it though, Just a swing at it? They are prolly just trying to check things out a little more, maybe from a higher level. -lamar

my yellow does the same thing the theory i came up with is they are aquatic so if they are sitting at the bottom of a river they need to lift straight up to see what is at the waters surface since snakes dont have the ability to think they cant tell the difference between land and water just instinct tells them to get a look around lift up just a theory none of us really know why our snakes do what they do the other reason they might do it is just to make us ask questions haha

Mine also does this. I just think he is just plain crazy. I have also seen this from my Green Anaconda as well.
