Izzy brought up a good point with an email that he sent to me regarding the longevity records of an alligator in captivity. Even though we all know that the animal will most likely live as long or longer than us, what do we do about it? One day we all get to face the facts that we are gonna die and most likely our beloved crocodilians will be alive and kicking. So what's to happen to our animals after their protective and caring owners are no longer around? Dogs and cats are easy enough to find homes for. Snakes, crocodilians, lizards and such aren't quite as easy to get rid of as we all know.

So what's to happen to our animals when we are no longer around? It's easy enough for us to say that we are willing to dedicated our lives to the caring, education and maintaining of crocodilians (or reptiles in general). But after we are gone what is to happen then?

Does anyone happen to have a special WILL made up in this event? What types of plans have some of you in here made in the event in your un-timely departure from this earth?

I am willing to do whatever necessary to provide a great life for my animals while I am around to do so. After I am gone however, I am unable to control the treatment and care of my animals. What I worry about primarily is the possibility of the euthenization of my animals, just simply because I croaked.

If anyone could provide an idea of the plans that they have come up with, that would be great to hear, so that others that haven't managed to actually think about it, can get some ideas on what to do in the event they expire.

Just thought I would throw that in here, and see what we can come up with!!!
