Cracked Neodesha cage

CWinter Apr 26, 2005 06:56 PM

Anyone got at 36" Neodesha for sale?

One of my 36" Neodesha cages cracked a few days ago. I am attempting to repair it by gluing a piece of plexiglass to the bottom where the crack is, but I don't see this as a viable long-term solution, since there are also smaller cracks developing where the back wall curves up and in one of the back corners.

I spent an entire day trying to find a replacement for it, to no avail.

It looks like I will have to put something else on that shelf of the rack and I was wondering what suggestions folks might have.

Alan at jungle habitats made a few slant fronts a while back and could easily make you one to fit in the space for a reasonable price. Thats what I would go with to keep a similar look going rather then having something different in its place.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'd still prefer the real article, though, so if anyone else has ideas about where to get one, I'd really appreciate it.

I spent 8 hours googling the thing yesterday.

I have a local friend who last time I went by had 2 gray and 3 black slant front 3'ers. I will give him a call later to see if he has any of them left.. If he does I'll post it here.

Just got off the phone with him (called him right after posting lol) he is going to count and see how many he has at home, and if he has an odd number left he is willing to part with one.

On yesterday's Kingsnake Classifieds there is a guy selling three of the 3-foot standard slanted Neos. Here's the link:

It was Mark Kennedy Reptiles. He had three 36" Neos and the rack as well. Also some 4-footers. Perhaps the ad expired but he still them.

if you dont want to buy a whole new cage you might want to try liquid plastic which is frequently used in car audio. you would have to sand it and possibly paint it if you mind the color difference. but if your interested in this method you can find liquid plastic online, one site i know of is hzemall.com.
good luck with it

Thanks for the suggestion. I alreay patched the cracks with aquarium glue, though I'm not sure this is a good long-term solution. If I can manage to get a new cage, I'll take the aquarium glue off and try the liquid plastic. It would be good to have a spare.
