Hi. I was given this snake about 2 years ago, I gave him away about 6 months ago and just recieved him back. We used him as a educational snake that children could hold due to his pleasant disposition, member of the local herp club seemed to think he was a gopher x bull hybrid. He has alot more yellow than the picture is showing, he is about to shed. There is also some red coloration in the back of his tail. Any ideas, comments?

Looks like a Great Basin Gophersnake.

I was thinking the same after looking at photos on John Cherrys website, but this guy has a different head. He has a short blunt head and no neck. Maybe just another odd ball? I have around 30 pits right now and some real unique ones.

...looks like a GB, although the pattern slightly resembles a Pacific, so it could be an intergrade, I suppose. Nice looking no matter what.
