Just thought this was unusual..

I was out herping the other day, flipped a rock, started to lay it back down and something barely caught my eye. It was a milk, but I had never found one like this. That is the underside of the rock. There was no getting him out for pics. It was almost like it was his home. I'm going to go back in a week or so, to see if he's still there. Thanks for looking. Tom

Looks like a eastern milk snake.

It's not too unusual, last year I found a couple garter snakes and brown snakes hiding like that.

Actually it was a red milk. The ones we were catching that day were all alot darker than normal. So I can see why you would think Eastern. Tom
