Does anyone have any idea what the Hamburg, PA show is going to be like this weekend? I'm driving 9 hours to go to it, and I'm just wondering what is in store for this show. If it's going to be crappy, I don't really want to make the drive.
Thanks!

I go there all the time, didn’t realize it was this weekend tho. That’s where I got my ball and a lot of my other herps. It is well worth the drive in my opinion.

I only go to Hamburg if I absolutely have to. Which is only if I've already arranged to pick something up there. It's extremely crowded, equals annoying, and I've never seen anything there that I couldn't find anywhere else. Of course it all depends on what you're looking for. I like the venomous aspect cause I'm always looking for exceptional copperheads, so I prefer Lititz when they have them. In my opinion, shows in general are hardly worth going to in general and I would NEVER want to be a vendor. Some people drive across the country just to have 90% of the people there see the event as a zoo visit. I know alot of people don't even break even after they pay all the expenses to get there and then hardly sell anything. I'm an internet shopper all the way. Just my opinion. If it's worth it to you and you're interested in checking it out, go. But don't be surprised if you're not as impressed as you'll hope to be.
Hi there if you are going to any Hamburgh show this is the one you want to go too. The April show is always the best show of the year alot has been hatching out already so you are sure to get a good deal on what you are looking for whether its hots or your into or ball pythons. Ian G is always there with some new stuff, some he hatched and some from Africa so the answer is yes make the drive it should be a good show. Paul
After moving from NYC area to Louisville the shows in the area (Shelbyville KY, Columbus OH and Indianapolis) are at most 1/10 the size of Hamburg. I normally would not drive this distance (9 hours) but I am going nuts not being around these shows anymore. want to have options on animals to buy. Not into the whole buying animals without seeing them in person yet.
Thanks sweetie (billysgirl) for posting. See you at home.

I have been going to the Hamburg show for the past two years. There have been times when I was dissapointed due to how croweded it gets. I normaly show up really early, or go there towards the end. People start lowering prices to sell there stuff fast. They don't want to go home with the same animals.
never did see that late and people selling cheap just to get rid of it?
in Pa we are over crowded ,,,and we sell cheap all day..
you just have to ask.....
.........the show sux
crowded
thieves
rudeness and ugliness abound
stupidity unlimited.......play with little turtle,3 lizards then a tortoise then complain that the guy won't let you ""HOLD" the snake you probably won't buy anyways?........people suck
getting there at 1 pm will not help all the time.last time there was a 100 yard line out the door till 12:30 .......? duh....
.........people buy the dumbest stuff too....
OH YEA....make it less crowded by getting rid of all the litter and bull..as in junk and non herp related items........IE::....sunglasses,,piercing jewlery,,coins, bongs, and alot of other stuff that people would not like me saying.........
tables full of nothing but wood...ok .we need driftwoodand cork.but table upon table......
15 tables with bearded dragons.........
6 tables with albino leopard geckos.........
cobras to be sold to 12 year old idiots.......mom says I can.....duuh.......
..........anyways...........
LOL....I love shows...........really...........no.........really..........???????????

JY. I'd have to agree. Last time when I went there, one of the guards bumped into my sister in-law, and told her he was in a hurry due to that someone stole a huge amount of snakes. Figure, the guards are pretty slow...figure, buy the time he was done talking to her, might as well give up, the theive would have been gone....
JY, you have a good point.
the gurads di nothing.......
as did their boss......
as did everyone....
I bumped alot of people...I lost the ball........

..........don't matter...
see you saturday.....just bump me a little ..........LOL
actually there are 2 owners to the Hamburg Pa shows.....Dave Hess and Marty Piedl.........think I spelled Piedl right...
..each show is different........
alot are sad........hot..crowded......1000 15 year olds really NEED to see what new cobra they can get for $85 due to it being sick?..........

A couple others have already mentioned this and I agree...it has been extremely overcrowded (which equals annoying) at the Hamburg shows lately. They really need to find someplace else to hold it. Or make them two day shows if that would help.
Psst arrive @ 1:00.......the floor will be yours!
The is the way it was....could have changed....ask JY......
Last time I was there was last June..[I think]
Shows are like a petting zoo. That is when I purchased a pastel female.......It was sota on the way .....I was going to Scranton for a family graduation party......I was the hit of the party! I held her most of the time.

traci,
I agree. They should either hold a two day show, or move to a bigger place. When I first started to go there, the place had enough room to walk around with your animal and able to breath your own air. Now, it's so crowded, I have to hold my animals close to my chest so they don't get squished by other people. There are quite a lot of people there that don't have the respect for others. It's like, you gotta be strong in order to live till the end of the day...
damn.........really...........I drive an hour and half or less and think it sucks to drive that far.......
.......?..is there no show closer to you?.......
I know there are like millions of shows too close to me..
??.???
..........fly in to Hamburg airport?.......easier..........
