My Jamps are Hatching!

Jim123 Apr 27, 2005 08:46 AM

Hi all, I do not post to often, but I can not hold myself from telling anyone that might listen. Last night my first clutch of Jampea's started to hatch. I pipped two which started to stick their noses out and then two others started on their own. Here is a pic of the first one.

Congratulations, still not many people breeding them. Let us know how many you get. Thanks for putting up the photo.

I should end up with 35 in all. My girl laid 37 total one being a dud. The 2nd one died in the shell a few weeks back. The rest are looking great. Not a bad sized clutch for a first time.

How big and how old is mom?

Jim123 Apr 27, 2005 11:49 AM

The female is 5 yrs old. She is from one of the Baldogo's 2000 clutch. She is a large Jampea female that is over 14'. Her sister is even larger at over 15'. If I am not mistaken the parents were some of the first ones imported into the country. Both mothers and father of my trio were much smaller then their offspring are turning out to be. To me size is not important. The reason I purchased them was because I like the coloration and temperament of these guys. I do have a hard time calling them dwarfs at 15'. Call them what you will, and I'll call them beautiful.
