well, i just found another clutch of henkeli eggs...only this time it looks as though both might be slightly cracked. i tried to give em a sniff to tell if they went bad, and i got a slight hint of something nasty. on one egg it looks like a hairline crack, the other seems like something pushed out on it from the inside. very weird. nevertheless, i removed them and put them on moist perlite. dont know exactly whats up with this pair, but time will tell.

yeah thats how my last two infertiles were from last year. it was kinda odd but they didnt smell bad till months after they were layed. but just be safe and patient with them. the one that hatched a couple months ago had a big dent in the shell but no cracks.

Try using seran/plastic wrap to cover it with a tiny tiny bit of vaseline. A turtle guy I know told me to try that.

i put some plastic wrap over em before i moved em to perlite, ill get some vaseline asap to make sure it sticks....i just wasnt too sure about blocking off too much of the egg since it still respires thru the shell. worth a try though.

yeah i had a henkels egg that i figured wasnt going to hatch cuz its eggmate was infertile. i poked a hole through the top of it and saw there was sumthin movin. i snapped a few shots and covered it with glad press and seal. it hatched about two weeks later, slightly dehydrated though.

i had a few texas horned lizard eggs burst open about 2 weeks early. somethin with too much water in the eggs, and a temp change when i opened the incubator. i put most of them back in after opening 2 of them. all of the ones that split, sealed up pretty quick and all hatched out a couple weeks later.

well its only a day later and the eggs already smell awful. it looks as though they were leaking. its unfortunate, but i dont think im gonna sit and let them rot anymore.

yeah i had one infertile sit for a couple of months, it didnt really smell that bad unless you held it right up to your nostril. when i cracked it open, it was a hardened, lucid, yellow stink bomb. but, theres a difference between a bad egg and an infertile egg, and a good egg and a fertile egg. i ve had three good eggs that were infertile in the past year. the one that hatched had a real thin shell to it though. this year my female was a whole lot heavier comin into the season though.
