Today, after feeding mice to my Columbia County, FL Eastern Kings, I was holding the male for a while. Several times while holding him, he tried to eat my hand, which gave me an idea. I put the male back in the cage, thawed a couple pieces from a chicken gizzards/hearts package, and rubbed some mice on them (which may not have been necessary). I offered the first piece to the female, and while she seemed confused by it, she bit into it and swallowed it down. I gave her the second, larger piece, which after a moment of prodding, she decided to chow down on. I've read on this board that birds are great for getting snakes to grow fast, though the chicken gizzards/hearts themselves are obviously lacking in calcium.
