First Sav

oldrippy Apr 27, 2005 04:25 PM

I got my first sav on sunday and i had done research before I got one. He/or she (dont know yet) is about 3 to 4 inches long. He looks good. I have him in a 55 gal. with sand and dirt mix for substrate he also has multiple hidespots and a big water bowl. Right now hes eating just crickets and ive only seen him eat one myself :-/ but im pretty sure hes eatin more than just that one. The temperature is around 95-100 degrees in the daytime and is anywhere from 85-75 at night. I think Everything is in order my only concern I guess is like what else can i feed him right now just to make sure hes eating?

try offering a thermo gradient. ambient temps from 70-85. Basking surface temp of 130-150.
