Could someone please help me, as I am new to this? I have read about care etc., so I am not one of those who go into something with NO knowlege, but I have a young frog who was eating well. I give him one fuzzy (baby mouse) a week, plus crickets (that are 'gutloaded and powdered with calcium and vit. powder). He was in a 10 gallon tank and was growing so fast that my pet supplier (who I trust) suggested a 30 gallon tank. He was OK in the beginning, then he slowed WAY down on his eating. I put a thermometer in and noticed it was quite a bit cooler (due to the added space), so I put a heat pad on the side to bring the temperature up. It has brought it up but not way up. It had been eighty to eighty-five and now it is seventy to seventy-five in there. He seems to have gone into hibernation, as he sleeps, and is out of his 'pond, and his skin is 'hard'. Now I know in the wild the bury themselves and the skin hardens until the rains come and they dig out to breed. I keep the tank VERY clean (as I notice he does huge turds!)so it is not due to uncleanliness. I notice he has lost weight, he is not lethargic, as once roused he is very active. His skin kind of hangs, but I thought being out of his pond he might be a bit dehydrated, so I plopped him in the pool. His eyes are clear and bright and his skin is a good color. I have a heat lamp as well as the pad on the side of the tank....can someone help me to get him to eat or is he just in hibernation?

Thank you, Suz4catz
