Finally found a ruler, size of eggs...

chimbakka Apr 27, 2005 10:20 PM

I found a ruler, they are larger than I thought. They are all about 17 mm long, or 5.5/8 " long. HUGE!!! Do any of you (roo/tyler/anyone) have a chart or anything showing the size of eggs at different lengths of incubation?

I never really measured the eggs, but I remember thinking they looked exactly like a Tic Tac when they were first laid, and they almost doubled in size before they hatched. I don't have any Brev eggs around right now to compare measurements with. It's a short incubation either way, so be prepared for hatching if you still need to prepare.

I'm pretty well prepared. I have some freshly hatched mealworms in case they hatch before my ff come on Tuesday, and i have caging pretty well ready for them. I just can't get over how HUGE the eggs are... i'll be interested to see how soon they will hatch.

Sorry, no chart and I really dont want to disturb my eggs to measure them. I would keep an eye on them daily. What are you keeping them in right now? Get a hold of the some pin head crix too if you can. Exciting, isnt it.
