I live just south of Sac near Lake Comanche outside of Ione, Ca. Most all of the spots I go to are not realy goo for field collecting but are great for my research. Would love to meat others in the area and posable do some herping together some time.

Hi Jason. Yeah I'm pretty familiar with your area. I used to have a ex that lived out off of 16 near Plymouth. Also I go fishing out at Amador, Pardee and Comanche a lot. My ex's grand parents have about 40 acres and I used to find Northern Pacifics, Garters, and an occasional kingsnake here and there out there. what areas do you hit up out there? I hear there's a place in I think Drytown called rattlesnake hill. I had a local tell me they call it that for a reason. Rancho Murietta used to be a pretty good place to herp as well.

I spend most of the season traveling all over the Eldorado National Forest looking for herps and conducting my research. Last week my father expressed a concern for his health “over weight and under challenged” so he came with me on my 10 mile trek last Tuesday and will be coming with me this coming week to Tiger Creek. Would be great to get together some time. I have yet to hear about a “Rattle Snake Hill” I will talk to some of the old timers about it tonight and see if they have any stories and possibly driving directions.

I know where Shadow Glenn is. That's in Orangvale with Lake Natomas in the back of it right? I've been fishing back there once or twice...never snakin though. You ever find anything cool out there?

I heard about some place in Volcano called the mosiac caves or something like that. It started with a M and caves and in Volcano. I heard there is a lot of NP's there as well.

Also I heard about some a place off of electra road down by the big hydro plant that is supposed to have a den.
