I'm in the process of building a breeder rack. I'm going to use melamine and sweater boxes. I have a question regarding the heat source. Where exactly is the heat tape placed? Is it on the flooring sections of each shelf attached to the melamine? IF anyone has pics, I would appreciate it...Thanks

I run the heat tape down the back of my racks. I use three strips of 11" tape covering 33" the exposed 47" of backing. When you then add the expansion of the heating surface by using the aluminum tape, the actual heating surface is nearly the total of the back of the rack.
