Mites Organic Chemicals and Synthetic Chemicals
Every living thing is made up of complex Organic Chemicals this is what changed my mind on mites treatments for my reptiles look no further then the Boa and. Pythons and the use of flea and tick colors used to control Mites the boas Organic Chemical makeup give them very low resistance to Chemicals
Used in flea and tick colors witch may cause the snake to die if it comes in to contact with these Chemicals. on the other hand Pythons Organic Chemical makeup make them More resistant to the Chemicals Used in flea and tick colors How ever I would not recommend flea and tick colors be used on any snake Or cage. My way uses only water on the snake to get rid of the mites ever relax with a hot bath well your snake might relax with a warm bath warm not hot enough to burn the snake the water should be about 96 degrees F.
The bathtub is best for this job I fill the bathtub with a few inches of warm water enough water to cover the snakes body I use my free hand to pet the snake when the snake is under the water
To pop any air pockets on the snake’s body mites will live in the air pockets under water trust me on that one.
My snakes stay in the tub for at lest one half hour
Also wipe the snake with pepper towels after you pull the snake out of the bathtub also Use cotton Q Tips to get to mites around the heat pit don’t pick at the heat pits. put the pepper towels and Q Tips. In zip locks bags then put them into the trash can
Important to remember is to hold the snake in the tub so the head stick out of the water
Don’t live the snake to get the phone door or what ever else get you out of the room. The next thing you will need is a clean rubber made as a temporary cage clean the rubber made with real hot water
Then after the snake has 6 days mite free put the snake backed in to its cage but
Don’t put the snake back in to its cage until the cage has also been cleaned of all mites Now I would go for the Synthetic Chemicals to clean the cage I would use Black Night mite spray.
.Clean all the Chemicals out of the cage before putting the snake back.
Not all boas and pythons have the same Organic Chemicals makeup so why risk flea and tick colors with pythons.
