Important message about SPAM . . .

DonSoderberg Apr 28, 2005 09:26 AM

Below is a letter Mike Panichi (panic) just sent out. It reminds us that spam blocking software will often block out folks like Mike and I that send many, many emails. We're often perceived as spammers based on the types of volume of emails we send.

The reason I'm pointing this out is because I often get phone calls from people that said I never responded to their emails when in fact, I did. They just couldn't receive them because they were blocked by their software.

If you ever don't get a response from someone like this, check your SPAM folder to see if they were tossed into that. If not, call their phone number that's listed on their advertisement or web site. Otherwise, write back to that same person saying they never responded and ask them to call you at the phone number you now have in your email. I have often heard from people at shows that they decided never to do business with me because I didn't answer their emails. I answer ALL emails. I know Kathy does too and she has this same problem so PLEASE call or rewrite emails if you don't get a response and remember to include your phone number if you can't reach that person on his/her phone.

Hi folks, recently I have been wondering why I have not received any emails. When I started checking, this terrific spam blocker I spent a ton of money on decided to capture many of my emails. I apologize and I think I have it all worked out.
Thanks. Mike Panichi

when it does happen(when my reply won't go through), there is seldom ever a phone # in the email, so I just have to give up. It doesn't hurt to add it into your email.

Also, some people have left phone messages that garbled one or more of the numbers of their phone #, so I can't call them back. Please speak SLOWLY AND CLEARLY (yes, we get a lot of kidding for saying that on the recording, but people still say their number so fast that I sometimes can't understand part of it after replaying it several times.) You might follow up with a short email if you don't get a phone call returned.

There are times when I have gone to an out of town show and will be gone several days, so can't always answer immediately, as well.

Please don't automatically think that you emails or phone messages have been ignored if they are not returned - sometimes there is a really good reason.

But Don and Kathy certainly are NOT on that list!

Excellent customer service on both counts...if you're not getting an answer from either of them, it's something wrong in the communication lines...not either of them ignoring you!

I have also dealt with Kathy and have had every message returned that I have ever left. I have met Don and he is just as nice to the point of being scary. LOL He remembered my name about a hour and a half after meeting me for 2 minutes in Daytona on a Sunday. That is just amazing. Anybody who has ever gone to the Daytona show knows what I mean by amazing. You meet so many people that it melts your mind. I have been impressed by that and how nice Don was that day for years.

There is a reason these two have the reps they have and have had for years. They are both great people.

Thanks Jason

I understand what you are saying Don, as I have found e-mails in my provider's spam folder. But it is still my responsibility to answer those that are sent there. This is not a new thing, so I still have a beef with some of the advertised account holders that are on the front page of K-snake THAT STILL DO NOT ANSWER MY E-MAILS. Bad business.

And Kathy is right about messages left on the phone and I can't understand the phone # LOL

>How can it be Don's, Kathy's or anyone elses fault if your spam blocker is blocking them?
"Your" meaning anyone that has a spam blocker.
They can answer e-mails that get dropped in their own spam blocker folder but they have no control when their return e-mail gets dropped in the recipient’s spam folder or deleted.
So it obviously isn't bad business.

Kerb...... Don said he replies to the emails but sometimes the recipients email blocks it so he is letting people know to check the spam for a reply if you don't get one. It makes no sense to hold Don, Kathy or anyone else responsible if they reply and the recipients spam blocker doesn't allow it through or deletes it. They can only be responsible at their end.
