i was wondering was sex should i get...is one better then the other?.....i like the larger animal....and my other question is .....the ones w the big fat throats...r those the males???and do females get those too or not? thanx in advance

Male tegus are much larger than females. Males also have the larger jowls. Females can get little pouches, but nothing compared to the males. Reds in particular how the most swollen of jowls. My reds jowls are huge in proportion to his head compared to my others. Check out bluetegu.com and look at Ron's large red. It will give you an idea.

An added bonus of males is that you won't hav eto deal with
distocia (egg bound). I got a male Arg. B&W for the same reasons
you mentioned.
