reptile30 Apr 28, 2005 12:51 PM

i was just feeding my female (who i think is a lil fat) so i droped 5 crickets in she ran all over the cage to catch themand hunt for them, but when i use to feed her i would just dump them all in and she wouild sit there and eat them as they go, like they didnt realize her mouth was open and they would just walk right in her mouth,
so next time u feed ur bd crickets or any thing that moves fast drop like 5 or 6 in at a time let her hunt them down so she get a lil exersise as she eats,

this may work i just tried it to day, not 100% sure unless some one asdone any data on it

thanks

Mine is so frickin' spoiled he has to eat them out of my hand or he won't touch them at all. I scoop up a hand-full of crix and make a fist, then put my hand in the tank and open up my thumb and forefinger a bit. The crix head for daylight and right into the snapping jaws and sticky tongue of Draconis! It's hilarious to watch!!!

Another thing you can try is get a reptile harness (Repti-harness in large is just right for adult beardies), and remove the nylon cord. Then you can replace the cord with a much longer piece (I use leather lace off of "desert boots" and stake him/her outside in the backyard on a sunny day. Once they get used to being outdoors, they usually like to explore their surroundings, run around, etc..., and have a good old time. Just don't leave them alone or they might get into something they shouldn't.

One more great exercise: swimming. Baths are great exercise to beardies, just like humans. Again, just don't leave them alone
