2 questions: shed and eye problem?

banana Apr 28, 2005 05:45 PM

How often should a baby leo shed? Ours looks like it's growing but I haven't noticed it shed yet when I thought it would have already. Also, it keeps its left eye closed a lot of the time, even with the rgith eye open. No discoloration or anything. Why would he do that? Thanks

You prolly wont notice when your leo sheds. Most of the time u wont see it happen, but it probably already has shed. Not sure about the eye though.

Lizards often close only one eyelid, especially if their keeper is staring at them. Unless its excessive and that eye is never open or looks injured its probably normal lizard attitude at work.

It's probably shed and eaten it's skin without you noticing. A lot of times they'll hold one eye closed if a bit of shed gets stuck on the eyelid. Try moistening the closed eye with a Q-tip. If you see any stuck skin, you can remove it with a fine pair of tweezers.
