>>well my snake went dull and his eyes went blue, as you could tell from the photo...........today he was back to normal color and eyes clear........ so i am assuming he is almost done with his shed........... he still hasnt shed his skin, but i know thats next.
>>thanx to everyone who gave advice, and for listening.
>>i will tell you one thing, a first snake can be tricky, i dont think it matters how many books you have to go by, it still doesnt count for what you are expecting to happen, i thought my snake would have shed in a week.......... boy was i mistaken!
You can probably expect him to shed Monday or Tuesday.
I don't know if you saw this earlier so I will re-post it here.
Maybe it will help you out.
>>They usually like to eat after they shed.
>>The timing should be just about right.
>>After it sheds try feeding it again. Try a small meal since it hasn't been eating.
>>I can't figure out why the pinkie died unless the snake tried to eat it but it was too big and the snake couldn't take it down all the way.
>>Was it moist?
>>It is possible it only got it part way down.
>>You did have air holes in the deli dish didn't you?
>>By the way the smaller the dish the better.
>>I would still recommend placing the snake with a live (small) pinkie in a small deli dish, over night.
>>I say live because live is more apt to stimulate a feeding response in a non-feeder then F/T.
>>This is rough and you may not have the heart for this but you could take a pin or needle and poke a hole in it's head to expose a little brain matter. This is really tough to do.
>>Over night lends for less stress and since they are mostly nocturnal this is a more natural time for them to eat.
just my opinion on something that may help.
If this doesn't work there are plenty of things to try.
