Amphibians most affected by habitat loss?

dontplayw1thf1re Apr 28, 2005 10:15 PM

Hello, all:

I'm new here and am in need of some help. If someone would be so kind as to let me know where (what countries, etc.) the most habitat loss of amphibians is occurring, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm working on a report and am having trouble finding that information.
Please e-mail me at iwubkenzen@yahoo.com.

Thanks so much!

I am not sure how you wish to define habitat loss nor am I an expert in this area. Many researchers are stating that one of the biggest threats to amphibians is environmental changes caused by pollution (such as acid rain). This may be viewed as habitat loss as the habitat no longer supports acceptable levels of reproduction and population levels have dropped off dramatically in these areas. I know this is viewed with great concern here in N America but I am not sure of its extent elsewhere. I thought this might be a significant aspect of your topic.

Thank you very much for your help. I know pollution is one of the biggest threats; I need to look into it more.
