R/P Small Animal Exceptions
While animals are prohibited, there are a few small animals that are accepted under these special restrictions.
· Only those animals listed here can be shipped, under these restrictions.
· Small animal shipments can only be shipped DHL Express Service.
· Domestic only
· DHL is not responsible for loss or damage due to delays.
· Small Animal Waiver. must be completed by the shipper
Tortoises
Frogs
Fish
Crabs
Crawfish
Worms
Insects, Non-venomous
Lobster
No other animals are accepted.
Small Animal Waiver
The following are acceptable domestic AIR shipments, provided the customer has completed an Agreement to Transport Small Live Animals.
Note: These shipments are prohibited GROUND shipments.

Frogs
Insects, Non-venomous
Fish
Crabs
Lobster
Crawfish
Worms
· Small live animal shipments must be boxed or crated to avoid escape, insure safe transportation with ordinary care in handling, and assure protection to any person handling the shipment.
· The shipper is responsible for compliance with all laws, ordinances, or government rules and regulations governing transportation of live animals.
· DHL assumes no liability for the conduct or act of the animals to themselves or to each other, such as biting, kicking, goring or smothering.
Small Animal Pickup
For customers shipping small live animal shipments, use the following guidelines.
1. Ask if the customer has completed the "Agreement to Transport Small Live Animals."
2. If the customer has completed the agreement in the past, search the XXXXXXXX the shipper is on the list.
3. If customer is on approved list for small live animals, schedule the pickup and type in the Special Instructions box, "On approved list for small live animals."
If customer has not shipped small live animal shipment in the past or is not on approved list:
Not on Approved List
4. Explain this type of shipment requires an "Agreement to Transport Small Live Animals." Offer to fax or e-mail the form to the customer.
5. Advise the customer to complete the form and fax it to the fax number at the bottom of page 2 of the form.
6. Schedule the pickup and type in the Special Instructions box, "On approved list for small live animals."
