reg: indigo DO NOT HARM signs

DeanAlessandrini Apr 29, 2005 12:12 PM

Sorry, the parties involved in creating the indigo “DO NOT HARM” sign are not interested in getting into selling them. There is a limited amount, it takes time to get them made, and they need the available overstock to replenish those with bullet holes, etc.

I have some nice photos of them…if anyone wants I can email…maybe you could have a nice print or color copy made…not the same, but…

for checking. That's too bad as there are a lot of people who admire couperi and would love to have something that has their name on it. They could probably sell those for $50 each and still get a lot of business. Oh well...yes please send me the pic. Steve sent me one he took, so I'll compare the two.

Please email me the pics you mentioned.

Seems like something that could be "outsourced" if the
government doesn't want to sell them. There is probably
a printer that copies artwork onto sheet metal for 50
bucks somewhere on eBay...

Sorry, I'm painting my new reptile room and the fumes have me a bit goofy. (and yes, the snakes are safely away from the paint fumes and surrounded by their own brand of funk)

I takes that as a personable attack on to my huntin rights. M' big ole dog 'Duke', he's a Pittbull X Coonhound catches himself dem big black snakes all da tiiime. Hell 1 lived under m'trailer a full week before we caught him.......

How else is I supposin to teach m'youngins, Bubba, Enos & Cleatis Jr. How to shoot fer coons, their too short ta go shootin up in dem tree so they shoots at stuff on da ground.

I agrees with shootin anything that moves & so did my Uncle-Daddy & Auntie-Mama.

LOL sorry guys, but Fred's right these black beauties don't exactly live in Yellowstone Park. It's frigthening the # of backwoods folks that still shoot every snake they see or try & run it over. The ONE saving grace of the Indigo is it's common knowledge that they kill rattlers so some folks are inclined NOT to whack them.

Dear Dean, you might pass this on to your Indigo/Agency associates. I am in land management and have (re)placed a great many signs. A Cal-Trans worker in the Mojave Desert taught me something that is strange but true...he said "whenever you place a sign, it is wise to shoot it or scratch it up first, as it greatly reduces the temptation for folks to steal'em. Also, as everyone down here has guns, it's sort of a sport to shoot virgin signs, so by you shootin' the sign first, they aren't as tempted to destroy it with a .12 gauge blast..." I found it to be true, and ever since, I scratch my signs a few times with my keys or a nail. I always wonder if you prevent more problems with a sign or you attract more problems (i.e. collectors may now target that area...)
