A new ball technically can eat a small full grown mouse from what I have read on here. I would upgrade to a hopper. That is all I started with on my baby. She does fine. She has had a ratpup and loved it. Her last feeding though was a small adult mouse. I even think it was pregnant. I feed her weekly one or the other. She is now quickly growing. Hope that helps.
