Why is my ball so POed?

savana_man Apr 29, 2005 06:52 PM

I've had her for 3 months now and she hasn't eaten. Temps are right, humidity is ok (could be better), 2 hiding spots and a water bowl. Everytime I try to pick her up she hisses and strikes. She even strikes the glass when I go near it. My other ball (Monty) is in shed right now just chillin in the water bowl, but never bothers to strike at me. Any reason she might be mad?

I have a spawn from hell that thinks she's a cobra or something.

Is your animal WC/CB/CH/LTC?

savana_man Apr 29, 2005 07:12 PM

Unfortunaly she is WC. But she was just as sweet as monty until 3 days ago. And my parents said if shes still striking at anything that moves tomorrow we will take her to the reptile show to see if anyone knows anything that can be done. My right hand has so many little cuts on it.

She has mites. I couldn't see them because of the reptibark. I only found them when I changed the water bowl and there were some in there. So today at the reptile show I bought some mite off, so maybe later next week the mites will be gone and she will eat and be happy.

I am dealing with this too (but ours are bigger ticks)
Thought I had them all delbt with, but found a bunch on my Boy a couple days ago, retreated a clean new Towel for Substrate, and gave a good soaking, got all but one out with Tweezers (Yes I checked and got the heads) but the substrate will stay treated for a full 30

Hope he finishes this Shed so I can feed him, he just keeps Knocking the food away

He is not one to refuse a feeding, but allows himself to be picked up 90% of the time

He is my Sweet Boy, make a good playmate for my Daughters Female

Cover the sides with some paper and put the cage in an area that doesn't recieve much traffic. That may help.
