Love this forum and wanted to get a chance to comment.
This gentleman did call to say he did find some red mites in the toe pad area but no where else. We do an inspection and if mites are present we treat them. We did not check between the toe pads and missed them, but this is the first time we are hearing the toe pads were "covered" in mites. We did treat the cage with Healthy Habitats natural mite spray after we learned of this so hopefully Matt there will be no issue, but a follow up is always recommended.
With regards to shipping, it did go out a day earlier and that was our fault. No one was home because of our error so the package did sit on the doorstep. Luckily for the animal, our mistake did not cost him his life because the temps were mild. The animal left well hydrated and very active. It was reported to us as very active, but dehydrated after its day on the doorstep. We extended the guarantee for 30 days and asked that we be contacted with a status in that period. Our shipping error was inexcusable.
Corkbarks in our experience seem to be the hardiest species of uroplatus and do well in captivity. They often arrive to us somewhat dehydrated (like all other uroplatus), but respond the quickest and bounce back immedately.
We love to visit this forum to see everyones pics and experiences. Its exciting to see the success people are having with breeding these amazing geckos. Hopefully we will see a large community of captive bred uroplatus.
