this male is one of those i produced several years ago that has a 50% chance of being het/hypo and a 25% chance of actually being a hypo--of being a hybino. I kept him for test breeding because he was so pale, figuring that might be the visual tipoff of a hybino.
I'll be breeding him to two big hypo females that have been productive in the past, to see whether he's het or, hopefully, a hypo (all his babies from those hypos will BE hypos IF he's a hybino, so if a large enough number of babies is produced and they're all hypos, it'll be safe to conclude he is a hybino. WHICH, by the way, would mean that all those babies would be hypos het/albino, which when bred together produce babies all of which are khypos and 25% of which are albinos, meaning all the albinos ARE hybinos, "no questions asked".
But in this pairing i put him with an anerythristic--the babies will be double hets for snow for sure, and there should be some nice tangerines among them--not yet a common thing in snow projects. More importantly, if he DOES prove to be a hybino, all those babies will be triple hets.
He began cruising her immediately and within minutes they were hooked up. He's since also bred with the two hypo females. Sperm counts were usually in the ^^^ category (explanation in previous post).
