Got a question--Have you any ideas if there are any sand dunes off of highway 247 or Bessemer mine road? I understand that Soggy and Means Dry Lakes in Johnsom Valley area have sand dunes. We are trying to find a close place to collect fringe-toed Sand Lizards, and my research leads me to believe these carry a population of Uma scoporia....DO YOU KNOW BY ANY CHANCE? The chuck looks extremely healthy, most of them in the area are often more black, did you keep him? I have found some very huige chucks in this area. We found one 5 years ago (me and my son) that actually measured 18" and towered over any chucks I have caught before or sense, He was pretty much all black with the tan tail. We caught him off of Bear Valley Road out of Hisperia about 5 miles where the granit outcrops start showing up, but suprisingly he was in the crack of a rock on the right hand side of the road where there's only a few small boulders, there were some females there as well but we were unable to get them out as they were deep down in the rocky crags. But most of the outcrops are on the left side of the road, so we assume he must have traveled across the road as well as the females. There were also many Desert Magister's in the area as well and were able to catch some young. The whole vally is a great area and I truly enjoy the experience of hunting lizards in the area. I appreciate your input if you are familiar with Johnson Valley and off Bessemer Mine Road or the 247 Highway. Thanks!!!

Actually, this was only our second trip to the area. We live in Hesperia so it's a long drive.
