do you use real incubators, or homeade?
Thanx in advance for any replies.

I don't know about the "Pro's"...but these days for my normal hide box I use damp peat moss. If I want the female to use it as a nesting box, I add some sphagnum moss on top so they can "dig" underneath.
Incubators: anything that can maintain 78 degrees with high humidity.
Good luck,

I have yet to meet a "Pro", but if you do make sure you email me his name and address
What I use:
Nestbox: Large,Rubbermaid Seaterbox sized boxes
With a hole cut out in the lid that is
much larger than the girth of the gravid
Indigo.(Note: I do not"re-use" these boxes
the next season. I get new ones.Which makes
me an environmental nightmare from a recycle/
resource point of view.Oh well...
Bedding: I use clean sterilized SPAGHNUM moss, misted
down with a spray bottle. Once eggs are laid
they are transferred to VERMICULITE or Sani-
Chips.
Incubator: I've used Hovabators,Lucite Incubators,and
Home made Melamine Incubators..all with
wildly varying degrees of success. Great
air flow and STEADY temps with no spikes seem
to be the key to ANY degree of success.
Highest temps in Incubator? 79 degrees MAX
Now....about this professional person....I am most curious..
God Bless,
Fredrick Albury
You could just run them through the dishwasher and they'd be just short of sanitized.
