lavender cal king hybrids?

lilgemsmice Apr 30, 2005 09:31 AM

I was wondering if anyone was working with lavender california kings in their hybrid projects? I love jungle corns and similar crosses, but the albinos lose their contrast in pattern as adults. I think the lavender gene would be awesome in jungle corns etc but it would be a long journey for me to introduce that gene to the stock I have now (most of my snakes are a good 2 years off from breeding age.) Also, I am a bit hesitant about attempting a first generation cross myself, since I do not want to lose any of my corns in the process. I would love to hear from anyone who has lavender hybrids or is working on them!

thanks,
charlene

P.S. I wish there was more info available about the varieties of hybrids being worked with, I know there is a reason for a breeder of hybrids to keep a bit hush hush about what they are working with, but it really is a shame that more info cannot be shared more freely.

Currently my friend and I introducing Vivid's Blue eyed Blonde calking phase of hypomelanism into the Imperial Pueblan bloodline just to get the hypo gene in there. I think the hypomelanism will really bring out the tone in the bi-color phases.

cool.... I'd love to see some pics when/if available of the babies. Will you guys be keeping all the babies or will you be selling some? Have a waiting list by chance

I don't think we will be keeping all of them back at this point. It depends on how big the clutch is and how many of each sex hatch. I'll try to post some pics over the next day or so.
