Always leave an egg laying container in the cage...

Did not know she was gravid - and was even trying to see if she would mate with this male corn.

Luckily I checked and all eggs are fine.

16 good eggs from this 1st year female Miami Corn.
Bought the pair from Serpenco in the Fall of 2002 as tiny hatchlings...

Hey there Peter! NICE corn! Glad you saved all them eggs! My corns should start laying within the week, starting with the golden one, then my okeetee and finally my other locale specific female. Soon it'll be corns ahoy,LOL!

... The Cumberland County, NC male and female corns I got from you are doing great, baby!

I thought you said the female is a shy feeder? She has very aggressively eaten 3 mice in the past week.

By the way - that Sandhills Corn I caught is a female, not a male.

You need to catch a male for me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year I had a small female lay 6 eggs under the news paper.I lost them all due to not paying attention to my animals!
She is blue with the pre-laying shed right now and I have a nest box in with her and going to set up the incubator today. She is from a pair purchased from Jeff Yohe at Hamburg. He says they are "multi hets."Be interesting to see what pops out of the eggs.
