Savannas at the show

drzrider Apr 30, 2005 08:12 PM

I forgot to take the camera so I didn't get any pictures. Not only were there some half dead Savs at the show today, but there were dead ones. One aquarium had a ton of baby Savs and at least 2 of them were dead. I saw this not 2 hours after the show started.

One good thing I saw was a vendor that did not sell a nile to a man with a small child. The man inquired about the Niles and the vendor asked, "Why do you want it, do you want it to be a pet." When the man said, "yes", the vendor said he should not get it and asked what the guy wanted in a pet. I was very happy to see this and my wife and I ended up buying from this booth.

This vendor also spent a lot of time with my wife so she could get the exact ball python she wanted out of the hundreds there.

By the way, I did not get any Argus at this show. A real nice one was bought before I got there (you know who you are) and another had a facial deformity. I guess I will be waiting a while longer.

ya the savanahs at the show were terribile, and i also convinced like 10-11 people not to get a nile for thier first monitor,oh also as soon as i got that flavi cross home, put him in his/her cage it was eating, digging, and basking like crazy( the feeding habits compared between my argus and new cross are more different then i was expecting) i'll post some pics some time, and good luck on your seach for arguses

I was surprised by the lack of savs at the Dizie show today. I was told someone had a box of dead hatchlings that din't live to see the show.
I did see a nice bluetail and a couple of waters, but I don't think I will ever forget the proven pair of male ackies.
My son ended up with some golden geckos and i ended up with mice and crickets.
