i was wondering if anyone knows the reason this happens, and a kinda sick question but is there anything a breeder can do to increase the chances of it happening?i know it would be stupid to do but im wondering ,since these animals are probably worth a lot of money,im sure breeders have thought about it.i saw a 2 headed frog for sale for 4,500 dollars..i dont remember the breed but i do remember that if it was a normal one,it would have only sold for like 20 bucks.just what would a living 2 headed chondro be worth?

as expensive as chondros are no one in their right mind would try that... if it dident work they would have the chance of loosing the entire clutch... and thats even more money down the drain...
i see your point, but its probably never going to happen... chondros are know as problem feeders.... some get lucky... its refered to as feeding trials and i'm sure a few breeders have gone bald by pulling their hair out over feedings... (thats a joke) but trying to feed one with 2 heard might just be impossable...

the 2 that i know of that had 2 heads died fast...

hey thats a funny image,i cant help but laugh outloud when i imagine trying the feed a 2 headed neonate.ha ha ha...if any of the real breeders here, hatched out a living 2 headed chondro, got it feeding, and it seemed it was going to live, what would you ask for it?? assuming you wanted to sell it.

me personally.... i would put the word out about it and once every one knoew about it i would put it up for auction... and see what it went for... i wouldent want a deformed chondro myself, but i'm sure someone would

The reason why this happens is quite simple, its the same concept as a siamese (sp.) twin, the egg started to split but didnt fully seperate into two seperate embryos. This explains the variation with how far split down the middle the snakes two heads are, its nothing really controled, its not even genetic, at least i dont think it could be. I have a feeling that some of the comments dont make since because im typing as im thinking but just let me know if you want more elaboration on anything, and also, i cant spell, im a microbiology major not english
