This is a re-current topic on the list. Most Bankas are wild caught. Many of the Bankas you see advertised are likely not Bankas but are more probably Banka types. They are labeled as Bankas because the seller can get more money for them and frankly in many cases they look just like a Banka. Wild caught Banka are rotten snakes, very generally speaking. Mine are at least. They dont seem to adjust well to captivity and thus arent the best breeders in the world. Having said all of that there are CB Bankas out there. I think "Big Worm" bought one last year from a dealer. It is very nice. I have Bankas that may/or may not lay this year. They hooked up but so far cant tell if she ovulated. You are going about it the right way. Most of the people on the list are very trustworthy and seem to have some of the best snakes on the planet.

If you'll email me I'll put you on my list and if I come across something I'll drop you a note.

Also try Dave Barker at VPI, Keith McPeek at the blood Line, Kara at NERD and/or any list member that regularly posts.

Happy snakin'

This is Buttercup. She is 6 ft and 20+ lbs.

I posted this last week but it is worth seeing because Ruby is wrapped completely around a 4 ft adult male. I dont have any monsters but Ruby is about as big as I would ever want. She is a handful to move around as she is exceedingly powerful and doesnt really like to be picked up. I cant imagine an 8' 40 lb blood.

Hackbone,C.B. Banka's are hard to get. However they are out there.I happened to get lucky and got my girl from LLL REPTILE in San Diego. They had about 10 of them.LLL had got them from BUSHMASTER REPTILES who breeds their own bloods in Indonesia. So these bloods are bred in captivity.(farm bred). You can probably get C.B Bankas from Bushmasters however they have a minimum limit of $400.00 or $600.00.You can always buy $600.00 dollars worth and sell of the rest.Or you can call LLL Reptiles and find out when they are getting them in again. They usually get them in every summer.Good Luck!! Let me know.

I don't know why you would need Captive born specimens, the ones I have right out of the wild are all doing great, from different sources too. I haven't had any problems with their feeding or health, and I have not had to treat any of them for anything. They really just started coming in fairley recently from Bangka so there really is no true CBB animals yet, unless you consider a hatching of a clutch in Indonesia truely CB. I don't. Not exactly controlled conditions like we have here. The term captive born has beed stretched in this business of late - riding on the coat tails of legitimate US breeders trying to build credibility is all it is. Call it what it is...farm bred !
