I just got 8 eggs out of my Blairs female. While this is great and they are all healthy I am wondering about the number. You see last year she laid 9 and the year before 10 healthy eggs and 2 slugs. The year I got 10 good eggs was her first year and I thought that I could expect as many if not more in the comeing years. Now I have cut back on her weight a little because I thought she was getting fat. I thought this would help in the fertility and it has seeing she did not have any slugs since I did. The queastion I guess is have any of you seen a simular pattern? Have any of you had good luck with fatter alterna females for breeding? I would think not but I am interested in any ideas out there. I don't think I would get her fat just for more eggs while I make her unhealthy. The extra eggs are not worth it. But maybe if you have observations on weight to egg ratios or time of year weights to egg ratios. I thik I am confuseing the thought so anything you tink I am asking go ahead and answer.

Thanks Jason
