scale injuries heal?

xtwizx May 01, 2005 02:44 PM

Hello, Was just curious if scale injuries will eventually shed out? I have an animal with some scaring from feeding live food I believe and was wondering if they will always be with him or not?

It depends on how bad the injuries are. Minor cuts will heal perfectly. But if one or more scales have been severely damaged or destroyed, then your snake will have the scar for life. I've caught a fair number of the wild, local snakes. As few of them are flawless, I tend to look at their scars as marks of character and experience. YMMV.
