I bought a baby checkard garter from petco yesterday. It's about 8 inches long.

The person who got it out for me said he fed it a pinky thursday. So I wont have to feed it untill then. I live far away from pet stores. I go every saturday to get crickets for my green anole though. So I'd buy fedder items for the snake then.

Should I get a pinky or rosey red this saturday? I asume I'd have to get both. The fish to scent the pnky. BJut then again.. I dunno.

Should I try to feed it only scented pinkies? Or a fish every now and then?

I think that pinkies make a better staple than fish. My guys really like their fish though so I usually give them a bowl of fish every two weeks or so. You may want to get both fish and a pinki next week, in case you have to scent the pinki. If you get a pinki next week, try it unscented first, sometimes you'll be pleasantly surprised.
