Gecko with unknown eye ailment.

walkerman May 01, 2005 06:29 PM

I have a Gecko who keeps her one eye shut. If you touch her eye lid clear water comes out of it, as if she is shedding a few tears. The eye when open looks great. She is feeding and shedding fine. I was told by a vet to soak her in luke warm water and raise the temperature in her enclosure. So I did. After soaking, the eye opens by itself and it looks great. By morning however it is shut again. Has anyone ever seen this condition?

Was the vet who saw her a reptile specialist vet? If not take her to see one and they may be able to give you a more detailed diagnosis
