A move healthier food choice???

jazzmachine May 02, 2005 10:43 AM

Hi all. I just have a quick question regarding food. I was wondering what is healthier or better for them, rats or rabbits. I have always fed rats and/or mice to all of mine. But tried a rabbit last week, because the girl at the store told me they are better for them. He ate it no problem at all. I am just wondering if what she said is true or not. Thanks for any input or advice.

"But tried a rabbit last week, because the girl at the store told me they are better for them."

I would ask the girl at the store where she got her PhD in animal nutrition specializing in reptiles. I would actually like to hear the basis for this explanation.

I can see no reason why this would be true. Rabbits might have less hair per unit mass, but snakes deal with hair all the time in the wild.

The only reason I could think that she might have said this is that the profit margin on rabbits is higher for the store.
