Has anyone else got the call from Adams Mark aka Hilton Daytona? more

southernboids May 02, 2005 03:42 PM

We had our reservations at the Adams Mark now called the Hilton - I got a call today that we have been moved down the road because their construction will not be completed at the Hilton.

THIS BITES...... I know it is only down the road but when my wife gets tired she goes to the room, she gets bored she goes to the room, she needs a nap then back to the room. I am not saying this is miles down the road but far enough I will not let my wife walk alone at night where before it was to the elevator and then the room.

Oh yea.. I would just say not to answer the phone when you see it is HILTON calling but they didnt give me a chance. They credited back my room to my card and made reservations for me down the road at Holiday Inn. Nice.

We have not heard from them....yet. Did you request a specific tower, north or south ?

I am not sure what they are working on. We just asked for a room, any room. We had reservations for a few months now, thought we beat the crowd. Who knows maybe they are only moving a few rooms and you will not be picked. Lucky you....

I think I will call and complain more.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn last year and found it pretty gross by Holiday Inn standards...The resturant was terrible, dead bugs in the room, and very pricey beer...

By the way..I had my rooms at the Hilton since Jan. and I just got the call that they moved me to the Mayan Inn. At least they got me another room, but has anyone stayed there?...Is it nice?

It's similiar to a Holiday Inn room-wise. No bugs, personal safes in the room (I like that.) My room looked out over the parking lot of the Ocean Deck Lounge and every night from about midnight till 3a.m. it was like the burnout pit at the Iron Horse Saloon. First two nights I had fun watching-by the fifth night I even tried sleeping in the bathtub with my ears submerged.

I work for a large full service hotel in Orlando, and when you have a reservation, and the hotel cannot for whatever reason honor your reservation, they have to "walk" you to another hotel. It's crappy but sometimes it happens. The hotel I work for picks up the room tab at the other hotel each night until they can put you in a room. Did you make your reservation before the hurricane damage or after? If it was after, then I would think the fault lies on them. If you made your reservation before last year's hurricane damage then you cannot fault the hotel for a natural disaster.

Well I had my reservation at the Hilton since Jan 27ish...And when they spoke to me they were quite rude...they wouldn't even tell my why they had moved me to the Mayan..all she would say was that things are under construction.....NOT MY FAULT!..I'm more pi$$ed that I got bumped for a Hilton to a Best Western than anything...

And they are not covering any part of the bill...they just told me to call the Mayan and give then my CC info....

What A Joke!!

I hope the show is at least as rockin as usual..
