How much is to much?

Last sep. I got a 1.1 pair of albino burms, just your everyday albino's. Now I have bene keeping burms for around 11 years now and have never had any problums till I got these two. Now the male is great, he has grown so much as most burms do. The female on the other hand, lets just say she is hard to please.

When I first got them they had only been feed live mice(they were 3months old at the time) by the breeder. I started to get them onto p/k rats and it was going good, the male is still on p/k or he will take f/t. The female started to eat the p/k at first, then went into her 2nd shed scince I had her, after that shed she would not take p/k.I waited and waited she would have nothen to do with them.So after about 6 weeks of her not eating, I gave her a live one. She ate it fast and I thought she would be ok.

Then next shed she did would not take anything, not p/k not live.About 5 weeks went by and she started to eat again, but again only live.

By this time the male had moved on to sm rats, and was being a burm getting some size on him.The female is still on fuzzy rats and not growing that much.

after talking to some friends I started to feed her about every three or four days just one fuzzy rat at a time. She went through another shed/fast then just like the times before started to eat again.

She has now had two sheds with out going off feed and just last night took her first sm rat, a very small, small rat but a sm rat all the same, She is still very small,it's hard to see any growth since I'v had her.

In your minds what would be the best way to get her up to weight? I know one feeding a week is best but should I feed her more? The male is three times her size eats one med rat a week.

Also, how long should I wait befor trying to feed p/k again?

Like I said I've never had a problum with a burm before, I guess I've been lucky, till now.

sorry for the spelling,
thanks

if i am understanding correctly, at this point she is eating but just not the size prey that she should be. i would suggest giving her more then one small sized prey item at each feeding. it is easier to digest smaller meals and she will still be getting the proper meal just in two or three meals instead of one.

Yea that's just about what I've been doing now.

She will not eat two at a time so I was feeding her every three or four days. I just don't want to over do it with her.

Thanks.

is she underweight? if not then i wouldnt worry too much. she should grow just fine, maybe just a little slower then the male, but i would think she would hit a growth spurt later and catch up. as long as shes accualy eating without a problem then dont worry so much, shell eventually catch up.
