finally, a picture of roans cage

taralynn_hughes Jul 11, 2003 11:49 AM

We finally got the pictures seveloped. The cage looks darker in the pic then it really is. It's pretty big and Roan really seems to love it. He's been pretty adventurous these days. All over his cage, exploring every nook and cranny. Crickets have lots of places to hide, but Roan seems to be catching on to hunting in such a big place. Still trying cup feeding, but with not much success. Going to start feeding him silk worms as a main staple.
The cage took alot of work. It is cricket tight. On the doors where there was a space, the is weather stripping tape, and that makes a tight seal. We have had two crickets chew through the cage, but we patched the holes with left over screen.

The cage is roughly 5 1/2 feet high, by 2 1/2 feet deep and 3 1/2 feet wide. It cost about 150-200 dollars to build, and alot of man hours. From start to when we put roan in was a week and 2 days. But it was totally worth all of it. Roan is really happy.
