The general product you're asking about is usually called expanded PVC. It is the material used by Boaphile, Jason's Jungle, Jungle Habitats and many others.
You can only find that at plastic distributors and sign shops. You won't find it at a lumber yard.
However, if you call sign shops I've found you usually have to ask for Sintra which is the brand name for the most common expanded PVC. So even if they sell another product, you need to ask for Sintra. Kind of like getting generic acrylic when you ask for Plexiglass at a glass shop.
So in summary, start with plastic distributors and ask for expanded PVC. If there are no plastic distributors then call sign shops and ask for Sintra.

Current snakes:
0.1 Gonyosoma oxycephala - (Silver/Yellow)
1.2 Gonyosoma oxycephala - (Green)
7.6 Gonyosoma janseni - (Black)
0.1 Gonyosoma janseni - (Black & Tan)
Here's a link to a site where you can buy by the sheet (I linked to the expanded PVC section directly).
I guess it links to the main site. I copied the address for the PVC section... ?
That happens with USPlastic for some reason.
I'll mention here that USPlastic charges very high fees for shipping sheet material. The last time I priced expanded PVC it was cheaper to go with local sign shops, even with their markup.

cheaper then to just go to Boaphile and order them?..
like the "Ballroom Rhinno Raxx " that got delivered today.....?
they are sturdy.......
they are heavy......LOL.83 pounds per unit........
.......can't wait to set them up and watch the "Big Girls " go nuts..............
.......really......sheet of 1/4 inch looks like it sells for at least 100..shipping would be a bunch......
for about $300 a unit you can get boaphile's and the delivery is free!!!!!!!!!!

.................
The boaphiles are no longer made from expanded PVC. They now use one of the heavier plastics so it's not an apples to applies comparison.
But your point still holds true. When building your own cage you do need to consider the actual cost savings, especially if you're not planning on any unique design features unavailable in a commerical product.
I priced out building my own aluminum racks and finally just got a Vision instead. Not only was I not going to save any significant money, I could come nowhere near the design features they have with their custom extrusions for the Iris boxes.
