I was on a food pick up for the shelter when I got a call from my boss. She said someone called about a python in their yard.
I drove over and saw a few people gathered around and new it was the snake call.
Turns out it was a Basin Gopher snake. It's about 5 to 5 1/2 ft and thick.
I now have him/her and a baby one I found in the front of the shelter being harrassed by a blue jay.
These remind me of my teen years on Fort Ord catching aligator lizards, horned lizards, and what ever else I could find.
Ok I'm done rambling and thanx for reading.
