Question about breeding southern pines...

jts2103 May 16, 2003 08:02 PM

I am currently waiting on my leusistic s. pines to shed before I put them together. My question is do I have to wait for them to shed and since they have been warmed up since march and have not shed yet should I be worried about their health.
Thanks in advance for any info,
Jeff

Jeff s. pines are pretty easy to breed.I wouldn't worry too much about them not having shed yet, just give them a good sized meal and that will kick start them into a shed cycle. Once the female has shed introduce her to the male and he'll take care of the rest.He should have shed too, I find that males are less inclined to breed when they are in shed.I first bred southerns in 84 and have been doing it ever since, they're great snakes and not hard to breed. Good luck.
